I come from Damascus, Syria. I have been an English teacher for 15 years now.

I left Syria in search of a better life. Spain is my chosen destination.

I consider myself a vocational teacher. I love interacting with students and I create good rapport with them.

I have taught English literature and language, but also mathematics and science.

I have a degree in English language and literature from the University of Damascus.

My teaching approach

Every teacher has his own style and special manner for teaching, and I am one of those teachers and I have a personal approach. First of all the language is no longer regarded as peripheral to our grasp of the world we ore vocal label or communicational adjuncts superimposed upon an already given order of things. They are collective products of social interaction, essential instruments through which human beings constitute and articulate their world. The knowledge of how language work is essential when we want to teach or learn them. Learning a language is historically related to knowing its grammar. However modern language teaching methodologies prefer a more functional approach to learning a language, In my opinion a language is encouraged to use language rather than know its structure or grammar.

I want them to know that the languages have different lexical compositions and different structural systems. I want also to know what they need to learn, for them they will learn the language in general. AND I am as an English teacher I have to get the ENGLISH language system across to our students and prevent them from applying their mother tongue rules to the new language structure, that because language learners often tend to apply the structure of their own language to the new language they learn. And also for me it is important to follow the main point through the teaching which are FIRST, we need to understand what is behind our speech, the way words behave when linked together in meaningful phrases. SECOND, we need to know how to grade the level of difficulty when we teach structures, we start with simple structures and progressively incorporate more complex ones. Other thing I want to explain is that the modern teaching focuses on FUNCTION . not just what the structure is but what the structure is for . what is expresses and what are we able to say with it. We have to know what a structure is, how it works, what it means, its function and its register in order to prove the best explanation and practice for our students. And I can add that our analysis goes from /the form of the meaning to the meaning and function/but our presentation to the students has to go in the opposite direction, /from the function and the meaning to the form/

THE OTHER THING I WANT TO SPEAK ABOUT IS THE TEACHER FOLE AND THE STUDENTS ROLE, as for the teacher role it refers to the different functions a teacher can have in a class. The role usually implies the relationship between the teacher and learner, particularly in terms of the autonomy the learner has over their learning in the classroom, teacher role can be discussed with learners as part of learner training along with other aspect of class. AS FOR the students or learners they can speak about what things they prefer during the teaching this new language .

We know that the syllabus is an outline and summary of topics to be covered in an education or training course. It is a descriptive and makes sure the objective and the means of obtaining them are clear. In my opinion the syllabus usually contains specific information about the course, such as an outline of what will be covered in the course, a schedule of dates and issues covered during the course …etc .but it is important to  remember that every level of the students has its syllabus, for example the syllabus of the starters learners is different from the syllabus of the advanced learners.

And this is a very important point must the teacher pay attention to it, and the input should not be grammatically sequenced and that also has a relationship with the syllabus because everybody can become a course author and activities editor if we know what the purpose of the course and its target students, That is why knowing what is behind  a syllabus is very important, and by the syllabus we can make a balance between the income and the outcome information, that means that the syllabus is like a control in addition to its main function. WHILE THE OUTPUT also appears to play an important role and among other things, can help and provide learners with feedback, make them concentrate on the form of what they are saying, and help them to automatize their knowledge.

The teacher is able to transmit his motivation to his students and they can anticipate a mistake and understand why it occurs. Anticipating students is give the opposite meaning mistakes and errors that we can describe and explain. And the good teacher in my opinion not only explain and correct, but he also consciously allow time of the class to a thorough concept checking. The teacher must manage errors rather than just detecting them, this means that they understand well why the mistake or error occurs  and what is the best attitude to it in particular moment. As teachers we will always try to project the best of us to our students. Finally whenever a language is learnt or acquired one is faced with the problem of errors. Errors are an inevitable feature of learning. They in fact are part of learning and reveal the strategies that learners use to learn language. They help the teachers infer how much the students have learnt. They also give an indication as to whether they are ready to learn what the teacher wants to teach next.

At the end I want to add my opinion in general, As for mistake that occur during the learning presses I want to say that some students must correct in the class but according to the level of the students whether they are beginners or advanced. And some errors sometimes we can speak about them by giving more examples and more explanations about the main idea of these errors. For example we can give the opposite meaning of some words or ideas, or giving some synonyms, gestures, examples or use language that is familiar to the students for concept checking. IN CONCLOSION, to correct or not to correct that is the question, What and When to correct is something that the teacher will decide in each situation. But there should always be a conscious approach to errors and their successful management. And correction is not an(either/or)issue. CORRECTION needs to take place and expected and desired by students. However, the manner in which teacher correct students plays a vital role.

NOW in any class English, Science, Math and whatever there must be some tools, pictures, instruments… for example in some cases I use some photos to explain for the students some difficult words, sometimes the students do not understand the meaning of the words I try to clear more and more through some photos or through gestures or giving the opposite meaning of the word.

When I  to teach the English language I want to know what is the aim about learning this language and when I know the aim I enforce in this case every thing that support his learning to that language. For example I advice the students to read everything in order to rich their information in general.

NOW what about the difficulties which faces our students and how can I deal with it

First of all I will deal with each level alone, If I have a beginners learners I deal with them in good and patient way and teach them with some tools like showing them a short video or some photos or talking them a short story about the main idea of the lesson. As for the advanced students I may be advice them to read about the meaning in the dictionary or on line, that for to practice more and more and get experience and learn more about any word whether it is a noun or a verb, then the students will get more information if they pay more effort during learning language.

If my style in teaching changed in the future there will be change according to the level of the students that is because every generation has its own manner in addition to the development in the teaching and its technologies. For example if I have beginners students I will follow a special style with them like using the Internet, I say Internet because all the children in the future will be very professional with it, and they will discover every thing, but what the teacher say is important in the lesson to guide the students to what they need. As for the advanced students I advice them to use the Internet and go to some references or go to the libraries to collect more information about their subject they study or discuss, IN MY OPINION READING IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE STUDENTS IN GENERAL AND IN ANY LEVEL.
