EUROVEGAS - America in Europe

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44ZRZDVVjuw

An America tycoon wants to build Vegas in Europe and has chosen Spain as the destination. The American business tycoon, Sheldon Adelson wants to emulate Nevada’s state cash cow 'Las Vegas' here in Spain and is deciding where to build - Madrid or Barcelona.

The decision has sparked a row between the two cities and both are hoping they receieve the final decision. Sheldon is asking the government to bend the rules on the ban to allow smoking indoors and to also place a cap on building skyscrapers do he can soar up high with his plans.

As America’s eighth richest man, Sheldon plans to construct six casino’s, 12 hotels,
nine theatres and three golf courses at either site. Sending a message that by building and investing in this European location will boost Spain's economy and drive major investment back into the country. The site planned for Madrid is equivalent to 1,000 football fields and will take approximately ten years to build over three phases of the project. However many protestors are 'anti-vegas' and have raised their points of view across both cities.

DEBATE

  • Would EuroVegas be better than Las Vegas?

  • Can EuroVegas help the Spanish economy?

  • Will this project take too long to build?
