PAST Perfect Tense
USE:
- We use the past participle to talk about actions in the past.
- It is used to express that one event happened before another in the past.
- The tense should make it very clear which one happened first.
Subject + Had + Past Participle
- I had been to Paris three times
- When I arrived to class, Peter had gone out
- They had never been to Paris until last year
What is the past/past participle of the verb
GO?
Go ----> Went ----> Gone
Questions:
- Had you arrived?
- Hadn't they arrived?
