Piranhas attack 20 people in ''Feeding Frenzy''

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1Tui0Gbvq4&feature=related

On February 21st twenty bathers were attacked in a river while swimming off a beach in southern Brazil. Suddenly they felt biting and severe nibbling to their feet and legs. Man-eating Palometas - a species of Piranha, attacked their legs and feet!

The victims were left with wounds to parts of their body and were treated at the scene by lifeguards.
A report said low water levels resulted in a shortage of food - where the Piranhas saw the limbs as a “feeding frenzy''
One woman lost her toe - she saw blood and ran out of the river screaming - ''I'm not going back in there.....!''

...Do we blame her?

Dory just can't remember, she's definitely not a dangerous fish - Finding Nemo.

DEBATE

  • Have you ever been bitten by a mosquito?
