I am going to......do more exercise



 

I AM GOING TO - Future simple to express things in the immediate future.

So when we make New Year's Resolutions we normally use GOING TO to express actions in the near future.

 

Structure

  • I am going to sing

  • I am not going to sing

  • Are you going to sing?


We use  Signal Words with GOING TO

  • in one year, next week, tomorrow

  • Tomorrow, I am going to take the train


Most common New Year's Resolutions: 


  1. I am going to stop smoking 

  2. I am going to do more exercise

  3. I am going to see my family once a week

  4. I am going to donate to charity

  5. I am going to eat healthy food
