P2 Titanic prepositions of time



 

Is it in the weekend, at the weekend or on the weekend?

  1. What time do you go to work?

  2. When were you born?

  3. What day is it today?

  4. What do you do ON Wednesdays?


 













IN ON AT
Months, Years, centuries Days and Dates Precise time

IN

  • In January

  • In the morning

  • In 1986

  • In the 1970s


Examples:

I was born IN 1986.

I brush my teeth IN the morning.

I finish work IN the afternoon

 

ON

  • On the 1st of May

  • On Monday

  • On Christmas Day

  • On my birthday

  • On the 25th of June


Example:

ON Monday I go to work.

My Birthday is ON the 23rd of April.

We eat turkey ON Christmas day.

 

AT

  • At three o’clock

  • At night

  • At midday (12pm)

  • At midnight (12am)

  • At the weekend


Examples:

I go to bed AT night.

AT midday I have lunch.

I go to the beach AT the weekend.
